Constipation is caused by poor bowel habits, according to Ayurveda is mainly caused by the aggravation of Vata (air), but this may be caused by the aggravation of pitta and kapha.
Bad habits such as overeating, eating foods that are difficult to digest (like meat) and not eating enough vegetables and salads also lead to constipation. Irregular sleep habits or emotional disorders (stress, pain, fear or worry) are other causes of constipation.
Ayurvedic Remedies for Constipation:
1.In case of constipation should be very careful with the use of laxatives, as they often can weaken the colon because of its strong action. Should be taken only in acute situations. It is better to use simple remedies diet. 2.Many things can be recovered by proper eating habits.
3.Eating food cooked fresh is useful. Spices like cumin, coriander, turmeric powder, fennel and asafetida is good because it makes the food easily digestible.
4.Chewing food thoroughly is very important.
5.Take plenty of vegetables and salads.
6. Drinking a glass of warm milk at the time of going to bed helps in the evacuation, the next morning. In case of severe constipation, mix two teaspoons of castor oil in milk is very useful.
7.Drinking lemon juice mixed with warm water two or three times a day also clean the intestines.
8.Common Ayurvedic medicine for constipation popular and used by many Ayurvedic physicians is Triphala Churna / Triphala tablets is a powder made by grinding three kinds of fruit or herbs. This powder is available in many Western countries. 3 to 6 grams. of this powder - O - 2 to 3 tablets taken at bedtime with water or warm milk helps to have a clean bowel movement the next morning.

Ayurveda Diet for Constipation:
1.Take example fruits, fruit juices, salads, green vegetables and green. Whole grain bread can be made. Brown rice can be taken in moderation.
2.Fried foods and beans should be avoided. Vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli is not good. Nuts and dried fruits should also be avoided.
3.It is very necessary to form a habit of evacuation in the morning. Regular physical exercise is also important to be clear the bowels. One should try to keep my mind relaxed, free from stress, anxiety etc,
